Abu Dhabi’s wealthy investors have eyes on overseas property

Abu Dhabi’s investors attracted by the overseas property market and are continuously investing globally.

Abu Dhabi’s economy is a healthy one and consists of many wealthy residents with cash to splash on lavish properties. Abu Dhabi also has a healthy real estate market with great investment opportunities however wealthy investors are looking more into property investments abroad instead of in their own region.

In the years 2007 and 2013, Middle East funds have invested $45 billion in global real estate markets which is seven times more than in their own region. Middle East investors are now expected to invest approximately $180 billion in the global real estate market within the next 10 years. $145 billion will be invested in Europe, approximately $18 billion will be invested in America and another $18 billion is expected to flow into the Asia Pacific region. The Middle East has become the most significant sources of capital in the global real estate market. This trend is expected to continue as the investors are long-term players in the global real estate market looking for high income producing assets rather than purchasing properties abroad for short-term gains.

Abu Dhabi is the best market in the Middle East in terms of financial strength of the real estate players. The region alone is expected to invest $81 billion into the real estate market by 2013. Abu Dhabi has the world’s wealthiest sovereign wealth fund and they are focused on overseas property investments. Abu Dhabi’s real estate market has been under supplied which provides overseas property owners the perfect opportunity to sell and market their properties successfully in the region.
